We are a peer reviewed, boutique public accounting firm that specializes in privately-held businesses in addition to homeowners, coop and condominium associations, nonprofit organizations and EBP audits. We service a variety of industries, performing interim and annual compilation, review and audit engagements as well as other year-end work. We are seeking a per diem Quality Control Auditor with prior audit experience at a peer reviewed public accounting firm. Some duties are as follows:
Interacting with staff personnel and the ability to oversee the engagement and related workpapers.
Prepare and review audit workpapers and checklists (PPC and others).
Make notes of significant deficiencies, material weaknesses or recommendations to be included in the management letter.
As we are primarily paperless, proficient computer skills are mandatory as well as the ability to communicate electronically. Knowledge of Word and Excel is a must and ProSystem fx background is preferred.
This is a long-term, per diem opportunity which can develop into a permanent position. If you have the skills we are looking for, this could be a great way to be available for your family and still work in public accounting. Work where you want, when you want by setting your own schedule. You will have support throughout the audit, assistance with planning and preliminary analytical procedures. You will not be required to prepare financial statements and related footnote notes but will rather review/critique financial statements prior to issuance. Your focus will be on the audit checklists, audit programs, documenting (but not testing) internal controls and substantive workpapers, etc.
A qualified candidate should have 5+ years relative experience working on audits for a small or mid-sized peer reviewed public accounting firm. Although you will have support and guidance, this is not a learning position but rather a ready to work position. Everything written here, all terminology, etc. should be very familiar to you.
