This position is a key part of a team of accounting professionals who together monitor, review, support, compile and analyze financial information of all types and complexity, including the creation of the University's consolidated financial statements. This role provides opportunity for exposure to high-level not-for-profit accounting concepts in mission critical central accounting functional areas.
What you'll do...
The Senior Accountant must understand the accounting cycle and transactions related to complex and non-routine transactions in order to assist with research on accounting questions and ensure proper presentation. The person in this role will interpret business needs, risk, and materiality in order to apply U.S. GAAP, regulations, and university policy and procedures to make recommendations related to accounting treatment and presentation. Responsibilities include transaction monitoring, reconciliations, footnote preparation and conveying accounting best practices to campus financial staff.
