Growing investment and wealth management firm ($2 billion AUM) based in NYC seeks a Paraplanner/Wealth Planning Client Service Specialist to join its team of financial professionals. We are a fee-only Registered Investment Adviser providing Investment and Financial Advisory services to high net worth families. The primary responsibility of the Paraplanner/Wealth Planning Client Service Specialist is to provide assistance to the firm’s Portfolio and Wealth Managers and to act as a liaison between clients, portfolio managers, and custodians, while performing duties integral to the running of a successful high net worth focused RIA.
This role will be involved with all aspects of a comprehensive investment and financial planning team. The primary objective is to ensure that our clients receive the best possible advice, great service, and an overall elevated experience with our team. This role will include some administrative and operational activities, but it will also include detailed financial planning work and direct interaction with clients. This could be an ideal fit for someone who is new to and passionate about the wealth planning profession.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Be a problem solver by identifying and researching client issues and help craft strategic planning solutions
Collecting, compiling, and analyzing raw data from multiple sources to produce accurate financial summaries. Produce cash flow and net worth summaries as necessary.
Prepare and follow up for client meetings by producing client financial reports and exhibits.
Respond and resolve client requests/inquires on a timely basis
Cash management – take responsibility for monitoring the portfolios’ cash needs and scheduled withdrawals. Notify the PM of potential shortfalls in a proactive manner.
Oversee and review portfolio positions and cost basis, cash outflows and inflows, monitor asset allocation, cash balances, and overdrafts.
Administration of the Client Reporting programs, Client Portal and associated databases.
On-boarding, monitoring new accounts, set-up, closing accounts, gifts and transfers, and RMDs.
Have an understanding of individual and fiduciary income tax returns and prepare detailed tax info packets for clients during tax season. Be responsible for the payment of income taxes and tax estimates as well as communicating income changes to the clients’ accountants.
Follow compliance procedures and protocols as is required by the Chief Compliance Officer and the firm.
Become versed in the Advent Axys and Moxy Portfolio Management and Trading platforms.
Assist in the preparation of client financial plans. Be versed in the eMoney Financial Planning system or similar platform. (will train)
Serve as a member of the Marketing Committee and be responsible for the support activities related to the firm’s marketing and social media efforts.

Interest in a career in wealth planning and pursuing (or having obtained) the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.
Education and Experience:
2-3 years work experience (experience in accounting or financial services field strongly preferred but not mandatory)
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university
Interest in pursuing (or having obtained) the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.
