Detailed Job Description General Summary: Prepare in-depth financial reporting and analyses for Student Auxiliary Services (SAS) business units including review and analysis of monthly reports, preparation of financial projections each quarter, and preparation of quarterly dashboards including key performance indicators for senior management decision-making. Provide excellent service to students, faculty and staff.
Perform accounting functions and financial analysis for twenty-six Dining Services' business units and Campus Club and review results with Dining directors and managers to ensure that factors impacting actual spending and revenue trends are considered.
Perform accounting functions and financial analysis for Housing Operations
Process entries to upload to the general ledger monthly
Compile required data and prepare annual operating performance benchmark survey and biannual salary survey for submission to the National Association for College & University Food Services (NACUFS). Compile survey results for review by Dining directors and managers.
Monitor balances on capital equipment and capital project accounts and track capital funding requests.
Assist with preparation of the management discussion and analysis reports provided to Accounting & Financial Reporting each quarter.
Participate in the management self-assessment process to test internal controls for specific dining and housing processes.
Perform quarterly intercompany adjusting entry for charges between entities that include Campus Club entity 24.
Complete special projects as assigned by management
Participate in a minimum of 40 hours of training/professional develop annually
Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications
BS in Accounting required, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Six to seven years experience required or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control processes required.
Excellent PC and MS Excel skills and familiarity with Oracle or another enterprise-wide financial application
Experience with development and analysis of cost standards preferred.
Preference given to individuals who have worked in higher education or the food service industry.
Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to interact with both external customers and internal team members with professionalism.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and time management skills required.
Must possess the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment; understand the various risks the organization faces and recommend practical and effective solutions.
Must work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment in carrying out all assigned responsibilities.
