The department of Financial Management within Business Services at the University at Buffalo is seeking a Financial Analyst to work closely with various university departments. The primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Coordinate/prepare internal financial statements.
Prepare various reconciliations to assist in verifying data integrity and researching data discrepancies.
Prepare/review budget to actual and other financial reports.
Monitor and reconcile allocation received from SUNY.
Lead the annual carryforward process for unexpended balances.
Coordinate with SUNY to establish new accounts.
Prepare rehab reporting and analysis.
Provide backup for payroll journals and financial data security and rehab project funding.
Assist in identifying ways to streamline the day-to-day accounting operations to make processes more efficient and be proactive about resolving data issues.
Participate in various teams that evaluate/prepare policies and financial information and assist with special projects/ad hoc requests.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other equivalent field.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft products, specifically Excel.
Accounting degree, CPA certification or advanced degree in above fields.
Experience in preparing financial statements and variance analysis.
