Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Lab Coordinator.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the activities of the assigned shift to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Trains and orients staff. Trains employees effectively in departmental procedures. Provides continued guidance and assistance to staff on work-related activities, procedures and performance-related issues. Explains new procedures and methods clearly and accurately. Investigates errors by staff and reviews with the employees to prevent recurrence. Assists Manager in preparing written procedures and manuals.
Investigates and troubleshoot CPA problems. Communicates with medical staff in a timely manner whenever there is a specimen problem. Ensure that the staff resolves problems in a timely manner. Continue to resolve problems that could not be fixed on the previous shift. Ensure that a problem specimen log is written for each problem and completed thoroughly. Coordinates with the labs to resolve specimen discrepancies and other problems.

Maintains a supporting role with computer operations. Coordinates backup and recovery functions when the computer system is down. Notifies all affected laboratories of computer problems in a timely manner. Ensures that all peripheral devices are stocked and maintained and the logs completed. Ensures that the L.I.S is monitored according to schedule and the logs completed. Keeps abreast of all system changes, upgrades and user functions.
Supports and assists staff with the departments tasks and activities. Assists in the processing of specimens. Listens carefully in order to respond appropriately, answers questions or gives information. Provides staff with necessary information and resources to get the job done. Ensures that information logs are maintained.
Selects and evaluates staff. Makes recommendations and provides fair, accurate and objective feedback in a timely manner. Follows Human Resources and departmental guidelines when interviewing or evaluating personnel. Keeps Manager informed of the performance of each employee on a continuous basis. Assists Manager in updating the job descriptions of staff as per guidelines.
Coordinates and delegates assignments. Assures that the daily schedule of procedures are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures that adequate coverage is maintained and adjusted to match the workflow. Demonstrates the ability to recognize, establish and attend to priorities. Excises good judgment based on the application of the appropriate policy/procedure.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or the equivalent. Minimum of five years related experience. Effective oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
