The Associate Director for Financial Services is a 12 month, professional staff position that reports to the Associate Vice President of Administration and serves as the accounting officer, acts as an information provider, an analytical and advisory resource for administration, and a participant in the resolution of business and finance problems. The Associate Director is a key member of a finance team responsible for the overall financial and business affairs, internal controls, policies and procedures.
Responsible for the day-to-day financial affairs of the college;
Monitor regulatory issues, establishes internal control procedures, produces official financial statements, coordinates external audits, and develops and implements best business practices;
Key member of a finance team that coordinates, develops, and administers a budget in excess of $60 million;
Provide trend analysis on major revenue and expense budget categories;
Assist in the coordination of the annual operating budget through the consolidation of data received from departments and the calculation and determination of estimated revenues and expenses;
Assist external auditors with annual audits to include the College, Foundation and Association;
Represent the Associate Vice President of Administration in his/her absence and may represent the college in external financial or business activities;
Responsible for oversight for the DCC Association; authorizing purchases and payments, preparation of budget, development of policies and procedures, and the supervision of records involved in the Association;
participation in department, division, and institutional assessment activities as required;
Oversee development of enterprise risk management plan
Perform other related duties as assigned
Education: Master's degree in accounting, business, or finance, CPA required.
Experience: Five years managerial experience in finance and budgeting at an institution of higher education is required. Other qualifications include supervisory experience, computer application skills, strong interpersonal communication and presentations skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Familiarity with higher education financial software systems and technology is preferred.
