The Assistant Controller, Costing & Analysis develops and oversees the implementation of cost accounting policies and guidelines for the Research/Restricted Accounting Services department. Negotiates cost accounting model/ metrics with appropriate federal and private institutions. Supervises data management & reporting, ensuring the accuracy of sponsored program data, portfolio and operational reports, and metrics. The position will also supervise audits coordination, Time and Effort and asset management reporting on sponsored programs, ensuring all internal and external audits are preformed to the highest standards of integrity. Supervise the Cash Management function associated with Sponsored Programs in collaboration with other administrative units of Finance and Operations.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Education: MBA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance or CPA
Required Experience: 8 years' progressively responsible experience in research accounting and grant proposal management or equivalent combination. Must include experience with OMB A-133 reporting, cost accounting standards, and preparation of the Federal facilities and administration (F&A) cost reimbursement proposal.
Preferred Experience: Experience in research accounting and grant proposal management within a higher education or closely related not-for-profit organization.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with a variety of software applications. Excellent analytical, presentation, negotiation, problem solving, communication and writing skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: CPA or CIA experience with PeopleSoft financial software for Education and Government.
